Increasing and Decreasing a PDF Pattern

Easy Formula: Desired Dimension divided by Actual Dimension

Decrease Example:

PDF Finished Dimensions 14” W X 10” H X 4” D

Customer request for a bag that is only 10” Wide

10 / 14 = 0.714 Rounded down to 0.71 (since the 3rd number i less than 5)

Move the decimal two places to the right = 71

This is the print percentage to enter in the Custom print range in the print box when printing.

Increase example:

PDF Finished Dimensions 14” W X 10” H X 4” D

Customer request for a bag that is only 18” Wide

18 / 14 = 1.285 Rounded up to 1.29 (since the 3rd number is greater than 5)

Move the decimal two places to the right = 129

Change the print settings to poster print and enter this in the Custom print range in the print box when printing. You may also want to change the overlap. I set mine to 0.125 so that I can easily align to tape.
